There’s nothing quite like SEMA — the energy, the innovation, and the chance to show the world what’s next in the wrap and PPF industry. This year, we teamed up with Avery Dennison and Buell Motorcycles for something truly special: the first-ever templated DIY wrap kit for the Buell Hammerhead — a true American-made powerhouse.

And the best part? It’s all designed, tested, and installer-approved by DIY Wrap Club.

The Project: Wrapping the Buell Hammerhead

The Buell Hammerhead is a beast — massive power, bold design, and plenty of exposed carbon fiber. When we had the opportunity to create a wrap template for it, we wanted to preserve what makes this bike so striking while giving riders a chance to customize and protect their machines with precision-cut vinyl.

Motorcycles aren’t easy. Their curved panels, tight corners, and exposed hardware make them some of the most challenging projects for any installer. But that’s exactly what makes them rewarding — and why this project was the perfect test for our DIY kit system.

The Collaboration: From Template to Installation

To bring the concept to life, we worked closely with John Duever, of Vinyl Images and Design in St. Louis, Missouri, and one of the top installers in the game. At the Avery Dennison booth, John demoed our Buell Hammerhead kit live — showing just how installer-focused this design truly is.

“If there’s one word I’d use to describe the template, it’s dialed in,” said John. “It’s designed from an installer’s point of view. You guys thought about everything — where it needs stretch, where it doesn’t, and how to line everything up perfectly without damaging the carbon.”

That’s the kind of feedback we live for.

The Details: Designed for Real Installers

Every inch of the Buell kit was designed with usability in mind:

  • Precision fitment that respects the bike’s natural lines and materials.

  • Installer-friendly sections that allow for progressive installation without exposing full adhesive at once.

  • Cut vinyl alignment guides that make it impossible to misplace key panels.

  • Relief cuts engineered for complex curves and tight panel intersections.

Even with the challenge of not being able to disassemble the bike during the install, the wrap came together seamlessly. The lines flowed, the fit was exact, and the overall look was aggressive yet clean — the way a performance bike should be.

The Outcome: Proof of What’s Possible

When John stepped back from the finished install, the verdict was unanimous — the Buell Hammerhead had been transformed. The wrap elevated the carbon aesthetic without covering its essence, creating a perfect blend of protection, performance, and personality.

This project wasn’t just about showcasing a cool bike. It was about proving what’s possible when precision templates meet real-world install expertise. For us, it’s validation that DIY kits can go beyond cars — into motorcycles, exotics, and anything with a curve and a story.
